My client develops and produces high-quality systems for automatic doors, gates, and factory automation that deliver convenience and safety. They are characterized by their comprehensive product portfolio, an international production network as well as the commitment and teamwork of their employees, and their high level of technological expertise.
The company is headquartered in Switzerland with subsidiaries and partners around the globe. They have an immediate need for a General Manager based in their North American subsidiary, located in Schaumburg, IL.
Responsibilities:
▪ Provide / receive strategic plans to / from the management team in Switzerland and lead the execution of the strategic initiatives with the American team.
▪ Manage a Small Company: The General Manager is responsible for leading and
overseeing the company’s operations; Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Inventory, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality Control, Facility Management and Safety.
▪ Supervise the overall operations of the organization including HR, Finance, IT
▪ Directly supervise 7-9 employees including interviewing, hiring, and training employees: planning, assigning, and directing work.
▪ Team performance management and implement motivational teamwork goals.
▪ Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new key customers.
▪ Create and implement budgets and growth strategies.
▪ Execute scheduled forecasting and be accountable for achieving forecasted numbers
Requirements to Succeed in this role:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or International Business. Some Technical Training through work, education, etc.
▪ 6 years’ work experience with Sales/Customer Service focus in a technical environment.
▪ Self-Motivated with entrepreneurial mindset.
▪ Must live in the Chicagoland Area for a daily commute to Schaumburg.
▪ Management experience working for a Manufacturer or Distributor in a regional or remote location with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse; preferably electrical products.
▪ Excellent Communication Skills including Business Writing and Presentations.
▪ Ability and desire to lead and motivate a small diverse team.
▪ Understands business implications of decisions. Works within approved budget and conserves organizational resources.
▪ Inspires trust of others and measures self against standard of excellence. Works with integrity, ethically, and upholds organizational values.
▪ Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports.
▪ Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
▪ Computer Skills including MS Office 365, most common ERP and CRM systems.
▪ Ability to travel within North America with some International travel.
