in Park City, Utah – Talisker Club.

JOB TITLE: Instructor of Tennis
REPORTS TO: Director of Spa & Fitness
STATUS: Full Time / Part Time
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
An energetic and passionate Instructor of Tennis who can provide tennis lessons to club members of varying ages and skillsets. The Instructor of Tennis’ responsibilities include evaluating the member’s skill level, coaching on tennis game strategies, technique, scheduling clinics, team play, and other activities and ensuring that all tennis equipment and courts are in good working order.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and provide beginning through advanced instruction for youth, adolescents, and adults to meet the interest, skillset ability and objective for all levels of players.
- Assist in developing and improving various tennis skills.
- Coordinate and conduct individual and group tennis lessons.
- Plan special events, team playoffs and other activities for members.
- Develop innovative ways to assist a beginner or younger player in learning and remembering the rules of the game.
- Develop ways to increase lesson participation.
- Provide a friendly, safe, and productive learning environment for members and guests.
- Be aware of what to do when a member or guest requires medical attention.
- Share your passion for the game of tennis. Make the members smile.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the courts and surrounding areas, grading and repair of the clay surface, stocking of water, ice, towels, and refreshments.
- Collect, manage, and assure that all equipment in good working condition.
- Keep accurate, neat, and complete records of instruction for members and guests.
- Report incidents and concerns to the Spa & Fitness Director immediately.
- Begin all lessons on time.
- Attend all required meetings.
- When requested, assist with helping with other Club events.
- Communicate with Spa & Fitness Director on client status, schedule, equipment needs and other areas as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFCATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Tennis Coach or Instructor.
- Knowledgeable in different coaching methods based on age/skill level.
- Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques.
- CPR and first aid certifications.
- Certification through the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or
Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) is advantageous.
- The ability to motivate.
- Possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- A passion for the game of tennis.
