What You'll Do:

• Be the Visionary: Lead and design next-gen traffic systems that improve mobility and safety for thousands of people daily. From smart signal systems to innovative intersection designs, you’ll redefine how Pittsburgh moves.
• Bring Ideas to Life: Develop and implement traffic management strategies, including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), traffic calming measures, and multimodal planning that encourages walking, biking, and public transport.
• Crunch the Numbers: Use cutting-edge software like SYNCHRO, HCS, and VISSIM to develop traffic models that solve real-world challenges.
• Mentor and Inspire: Guide junior engineers and technical teams, shaping the next generation of traffic engineers while ensuring the highest standards of quality.
• Influence Policy: Collaborate with city officials, public agencies, and private developers to ensure our projects meet the latest regulations and design standards – and shape future policies to promote smarter, safer roads.

What You Bring to the Table:

• Proven Expertise: A minimum of 8 years in traffic engineering, transportation planning, or a related field, with a PE license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
• Experience with intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and traffic signal design.
• Deep understanding of traffic safety analysis and crash data evaluation.
