Primary purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist (or Senior) will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to the HR team and organization. This includes various HR functions such as compliance, immigration support, and HR administrative support. The ideal candidate is highly organized with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for customer service.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Support the overall HR Operations team and specifically, the HR Business Partners.
- Manage, create, and audit electronic filing system for documents and files to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance.
- Utilize HRIS/HCM software for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
- Assist in employee queries and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Support and participation in various HR programs (e.g., on-boarding, performance reviews, stay/exit interviews, HCM administration, engagement surveys, recognition programs, etc.).
- Manage the preparation and submission of visa applications, work permits, and other immigration-related documents. Ensure timely and accurate completion of immigration paperwork, maintain meticulous records for each case.
- Research, interpret, and explain employment laws and administrative procedures.
- Provides guidance, support, updates and development of HR policies and procedures, internal and external audits, compilation, interpretation, and consistency, reducing legal risks and ensuring compliance.
- Responds to and tracks unemployment claims.
- Partners with the Safety Department to administer workers' compensation claims.
- Maintain credibility with employees throughout the organization by serving as an effective listener and problem solver of employee related issues.
- Work collaboratively and effectively across all HR functions (Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, and Total Rewards) to drive HR priorities and initiatives.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Assisting with company sponsored activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum requirements:
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years direct work experience in an HR Generalist role may be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- Minimum three years' proven experience, with exposure to all aspects of HR programs and disciplines, to include immigration administration.
- Experienced in understanding how corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes relate to the HR function.
- Experience using human capital management/human resources information systems.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of employment laws and regulations (wage/hour, benefits, employment laws/regulations).
- Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Working Conditions:
- Work location: This position could be filled in either of our main office locations such as Lakewood, CO, Leawood, KS, and/or Houston, TX.
- This is primarily an office environment with minimal travel to other office/field locations including outdoor facilities in remote locations.
- Travel is 10%.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Above the minimum requirements, not required but advantageous in this position:
- Human resources certification or progress towards certification, desirable.
- Experience with ADP and/Oracle software preferred.
