Manager of Accounts Payable
We are seeking a Manager of Accounts Payable (AP) who will be responsible for leading A/P functions across multiple subsidiaries in a shared services environment. This position oversees day to day operations, working to streamline existing processes and gain efficiencies in addition to increase controls. This role will report directly to the company’s Controller.
General responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Oversee outsourced A/P department
- Foster and maintain positive relationship with vendors and business department leaders
- Oversee the Accounts Payable operations functions including vendor master data, invoice processing, disbursements, disputes, etc.
- Continue to decrease the number of days in the monthly close cycle in relation to A/P
- Handle weekly disbursement process while maintaining cash forecast targets
- Lead, train and develop team members
- Work proactively and effectively with other departments within the organization to continue to increase collaboration and improve business processes and controls
- Lead the integration of new acquisitions into the existing A/P framework
- Complete the annual 1099 filing process for all domestic subsidiaries
- Provide guidance for PO processes
- Determine proper course of action/resolution for all escalated inquiries/disputes from outsourced team
- Identify process improvement opportunities and actively manage the implementation of opportunities identified for the A/P function to drive operational efficiencies while maintaining accounting integrity
- Assist in developing and ensure the effectiveness and adequacy of controls, policies and procedures for the corporate A/P functions; ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Assist with preparation of documentation for SOX compliance and annual financial audit
- Assist Accounting Operations leads in preparing and/or delivering ad hoc or recurring Corporate reporting requests
- Ad hoc projects/analyses as requested
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a management or supervisory role required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with A/P principles
- Advanced analytical, communication and time management skills
- Advanced skills and experience in MS Excel are required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead team members and partner with other business units
- Ability to problem solve and implement change in procedures to meet Corporate objectives
- NetSuite experience is preferred
