Position Summary
TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking an Industrial Technician at our Rangeline facility in Joplin, Missouri. The Industrial Technician will work independently and as part of a team with other maintenance and production personnel to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment.
Summary of Essential Job Functions

- Oversees repair and installation of industrial mechanical equipment, including safety guards and shields.
- Oversees and conducts maintenance, inspection, lubrication, alignment, etc. on equipment.
- Participates in discussions on eliminating recurring problems through the RCPE process.
- Builds relationships focused on teamwork within maintenance, production, and engineering departments.
- Focuses on safety, quality, reliability, 5S, continuous improvement and productivity.
- Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Observes mechanical equipment and performs testing to locate and correct causes of trouble.
- Ability to work on most plant systems including boilers, pumps, blowers, burners, storage tanks, air compressors, and fire suppression systems.
- Works overtime and rotating shifts.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college, technical school, or equivalent military training and experience preferred.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of Management Information Systems and SAP.
- Industrial maintenance experience in roofing plants, paper mills or steel mills preferred.
- Knowledge of precision maintenance tools and methods, shaft alignment, belt tensioning, sprocket/pulley alignment, setting bearing tolerances, and proper fastener torque.
- Proficiency in welding
- Ability to work on call, nights, and weekends.
- Military Experience preferred.

The employee must be able to inspect equipment and detect equipment malfunctions, as well as utilize tools to repair and maintain equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high and/or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat and confined spaces. The employee is occasionally exposed to acidic or caustic chemicals. A respirator may be required at times. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
