Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Manager of Patient Experience, the ADA Coordinator responsibilities include development, implementation and coordination of American with Disabilities Act (ADA) programs and policies to ensure compliance with ADA regulations for team members, visitors and patients; analysis of TGH ADA current state, collaboration with facilities, security and other internal departments to ensure compliance with ADA accessibility of buildings, parking and facilities; development of ADA compliant website and internal portal for patients, team members and visitors; development of TGH ADA resources for patients, visitors and team members, development of ADA website/portal and ADA policies and procedures; leadership and team member ADA education and training; and primary resource for ADA issues or concerns for patients and visitors. Liaison between EEOC, legal counsel and TGH on ADA issues. Ability to communicate and resolve ADA issues for persons with disabilities. Maintains documentation and correspondence of ADA compliance issues. Serves as TGH ADA Compliance Officer. Strong organizational planning, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage high volume, time sensitive workloads. Requires excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills. Strong knowledge base of ADA regulations, reasonable accommodations and alternative technologies that allow persons with disabilities to communicate, participate, work and perform tasks. Understanding of diversity, affirmative action and EEOC.
Qualifications
Required Skills
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree in social sciences, rehabilitation counseling, disability studies, business or related field.
- Certification as an ADA coordinator and prior ADA experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
- Two or more years of professional experience as an ADA coordinator, disability coordinator or similar related experience.
- In depth knowledge of ADA regulations.
