What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Sonographer 3 position at Tampa General Hospital?
Job Summary
Under Supervision of the Cardiac Sonographer Supervisor and according to established policies and procedures for various groups of patients, performs cardiac related testing. Performs test including 2D/3D echocardiograms, bubble echocardiograms and contrast echocardiograms. Assists physicians performing stress echocardiograms and research echocardiograms.
Key Accountabilities
- Performs routine adult echocardiogram imaging procedures as prescribed by Cardiologist.
- Prepares and positions patients for examinations and explains procedures to patients as they are performed.
- Responsible for correlating clinical history with prescribed procedure.
- Must be able to work independently and be capable of reporting imaging results in PACS system.
- Must be able to perform and prepare report for the following imaging testing:

Adult 2D/3D echocardiograms
Bubble echocardiograms
Contrast echocardiograms
Stress echocardiograms
Research echocardiograms for various studies
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of a formal 2-year accredited program in Echocardiography or equivalent experience with ARDMS/CCI registry.
- Certification in Adult ARDMS/CCI required. Current BLS certification required.
