What are the responsibilities and job description for the PR & Communications Manager - Corporate Las Vegas position at Tao Group Hospitality?
The PR & Communications Manager is responsible for writing, pitching, and reporting on select Tao Group Hospitality domestic properties. The successful candidate will help develop and implement our PR and media strategy by participating in the planning and execution of campaigns with a focus on utilizing his/her media relationships to secure earned media placements. They will draft media releases and establish relationships with journalists, influencers and manage media responses on behalf of Tao Group Hospitality. The candidate will be Las Vegas-based with occasional business-related travel. This role requires close collaboration with the company’s culinary team, marketing team, and contracted third-party public relations firms. They may also work closely with key members of the executive management teams at Tao Group Hospitality properties. The candidate’s direct report will be Tao Group Hospitality’s Senior Director of PR & Communications.
The ideal candidate has:
- 4-6 years experience working in hospitality (restaurants, nightclubs, and hotels) or entertainment public relations, either on the agency side or in-house for a comparable organization.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications or a related field
- A strong and diverse network of personal media contacts specifically focused on food and beverage, nightlife, and travel.
- Track record of developing and delivering successful communication strategies within nightlife, restaurant, and hotel industries; experience driving media relations efforts, including proactive outreach to top-tier outlets, developing story angles, and securing editorial features and news items.
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to write compelling copy
- Skilled to write creatively for different consumer-facing audiences and think critically about what appeals most to each while maintaining brand standards.
- Outstanding organizational skills (list building and list maintenance, reporting, calendars, etc.).
- An amazing work ethic, willing to go above and beyond to succeed at his/her job.
- A desire to grow with an established and rapidly expanding hospitality group and a passion for our properties.
- Can thrive in a high-paced and dynamic operation with multiple reporting lines covering many properties at once.
- An ownership mentality with the ability to think independently, self-learn, and create and develop ideas that lead to positive change/improvements.
- Flexible work hours (including weekends) for photoshoots, media shoots, events, etc.
- Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- The use of discretion and the maintenance of high levels of confidentiality are required.
Primary responsibilities:
- Implement press strategies for existing venues/brands and manage/implement press strategies for all new venue/brand launches.
- Create press materials (press releases, media alerts, fact sheets, etc.)
- Work directly with media outlets to publish timely company information, such as press releases, media alerts, photos, and other materials.
- Manage, nurture and grow relationships with media outlets, bloggers, and other personalities while maintaining a centralized database of media contacts.
- Ensure communication strategy is consistent and reflects the organization’s strategic vision.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to develop the advertising, marketing, and promotion plans for venues.
- Work directly with chef teams to strategize on major holidays, specials, new menus, photoshoots, and any other public relations/marketing-driven initiatives.
- Liaise and work alongside hotel partner teams with various agencies and other external partners in our portfolio
- Attend regularly scheduled venue meetings with marketing and operations teams to determine relevant content for media outreach and develop a strategy for programming
- Contribute to monthly, project, or event reporting and recaps across all brands.
- Gather and organize all media garnered and present weekly, monthly, and annual reports to ownership and other partners.
- Maintain company press assets (photos, broll, etc).
- Help oversee and be on-site for red carpet events, off-site events, pop-ups, talent relations management, openings, etc. with primary roles including on-site item collection, managing photographers/videographers, item approvals, etc.
