Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) provides support and assists the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing projects of varying levels of size and complexity from beginning to end.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Time and quantity tracking
- Maintaining organization of project documents, plans sets, and specifications
- Attending project meetings and taking notes
- Preparing submittals and RFI s
- Compiling cost information for change orders
- Ensuring all project documentation is complete
- Facilitate development of project specific safety plans
- Assist the Project Manager with creating the project schedules
- Review and submit project submittals for compliance with specifications and contracts
- Supporting the Project Manager and project field teams administratively
- At times act on behalf of the Project Manager and communicate with clients, government agencies, subcontractors, supplies, inspectors, and/or consultants to ensure that projects meet the customer needs
- Assist the Project Manager with monitoring progress to ensure that work is safely completed on time, on budget, and in accordance with project specification
- Uphold the purpose document and actions and behaviors support Strong Teams and Successful Projects (Purpose Document of Tapani Inc.)
Skills and Qualifications
The main skills and qualifications for the Assistant Project Manager:
- Knowledge of project management practices and the construction work
- Excellent customer service and communication skills and ability to work well with co-workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Previous work experience in project management or field experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: $21.63 - $32.45 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)

For this position, an individual must be physically able to perform assigned tasks, and be able to lift, push and pull 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to sit, stand and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
