What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at TAPCO Inc.?
Your schedule:
1st Shift, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
This position does not require regular weekend or holiday work and has voluntary overtime!
What you will accomplish as a Material Handler:
- Operate pallet jack and other non-power equipment
- Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Uses computer to look up, and verify data related to incoming and outgoing orders
- Retrieves products from warehouse locations and assembles customer orders
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers, or selects preassembled containers and inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective paddin
- Affixes on packages or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
- Attaches identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, follows established procedures to reject damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper and supervisor to rectify damages and shortages
- Stocks items into proper locations
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Follows all safety rules and 5S / Lean Manufacturing procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:
- Ability to transition from working independently to working in a team environment
- A consistent work history
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience using basic computer skills preferred
