Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, brakes and other basic components.
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on vehicles and equipment.
Ability to operate and perform thorough inspection of machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
Perform other routine service maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
Knowledge and understanding of all operating systems as necessary.
Test machinery and/ or equipment to ensure operating efficiency before and after repair or assembly for proper performance and compliance.
Fabricate, modify and/or install special equipment or parts using welders, torch sets, plasma cutter and metal cutting saws.
Diagnosing issues to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.
Knowledge of electrical systems to include troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining.
Perform and schedule maintenance for vehicles and equipment, while maintaining accurate and up to date service records.
Order and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.
Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times,
Comply with all company, state and federally mandated safety policies and procedures.
Wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hat as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 5 years as a certified crane mechanic and/or related experience and training.
Managerial experience preferred but not necessary
Must work well and communicate effectively with operators, truck drivers, and leadership.
Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities.
Must have valid CDL and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test and physical.
Exceptional time management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a team environment as well as individually.
Clean and organized
Ability to stand, balance, climb, for long periods of time. Excellent hand to eye coordination.
