JOB POSITION:       Computer Vision Lead

LOCATION:             1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403

DUTIES:                    Lead initiatives to solve business and retail guest strategies across 3D production. Select, evaluate, test and design 3D scanning and photogrammetry methods and systems. Apply machine learning and robotic principles to evolve capabilities. Apply mathematical techniques (geometry, linear algebra, numerical methods, and error analysis) and machine learning techniques to prototype and develop image processing algorithms for converting raw depth sensor data into point clouds, 2D and 3D tracking like SLAM, 3D point cloud reconstruction, registration and classification. Design, simulate, fabricate and test Robotic and Mechanical Systems, including evaluation of functional and design specifications. Set the overall scope and direction and resource plan for initiatives to work seamlessly allowing for optimal production, collaboration, and excellence in output. Develop computer vision/imaging and machine learning algorithms for embedded and non-embedded platforms. Train and evaluate computer vision algorithms on large datasets. Test, document, and verify computer vision algorithms. Discover new sensors and 3D cameras, to improve 3D content generation. Test external software to improve team efficiency. Participate in defining product requirements. Work with project leaders and product management team to define assignments, schedules, quality expectations, and other project criteria. Tools/skills/technologies used: Photogrammetry, Intel RealSense 3D Camera, Microsoft Kinect 3D camera, Zivid One 3D camera, 2D Cameras, Computer Vision Libraries (Open CV, PCL), Machine Learning Libraries (TensorFlow), 3D Visualization Tools (MeshLab), 3D computational geometry, linear algebra, statistics, numerical methods, and error analysis, 3D meshes/object reconstruction/registration/classification/recognition, SolidWorks, force sensors, MATLAB, C, C , Python, RoboDK, Simulink, Open3D library, universal robot arms, electric motors, pneumatics, 3D cameras, Canon DSLR cameras, home theater projectors, sonar sensors, mobile phones, neural networks, unity game engine for mobile application development, augmented reality platform, SQL, AI algorithms. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.

           

REQUIREMENTS:  This position requires at least a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, and at least one (1) year of experience in computer vision or engineering (any title) including at least six (6) months of experience designing, simulating, and testing robotics, research, and using SolidWorks, MATLAB, force sensors, electric motors, and Simulink. Requires demonstrated knowledge of 3D scanning of the human body (including CT scanners or X-rays), image reconstructions using 3D cameras, and computer vision libraries. Position includes a telecommute benefit within commuting distance to Minneapolis-area Target office, as directed.
