Who We Are
We are a is a family-owned food manufacturing company with two locations known as Reed Food Technology and Taste Maker Foods located Mississippi. Our sauce plant, Reed Food Technology in Pearl MS, produces a wide range of sauces for retail, commercial, and industrial customers, including some of the best-known names in the world of competitive BBQ. Our dry-blending facility, Taste Maker Foods in Hernando MS, produces batters, breaders, baking mixes, and dry seasoning blends for customers of all sizes.
What We Are Looking For
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the cost-effective procurement of all ingredients, and packaging materials used by the company.
Essential Functions:
- Manage all ingredient and packaging supplies to ensure they are sufficient for production needs.
- Negotiate pricing/volume contracts with vendors for key ingredients.
- Continuously work to keep ingredient and packaging supplies low
- Hold vendors accountable when service or supply is inadequate.
- Examines, bids, negotiates, and makes awards where multiple approved sources are available.
- Manage and approve new supply sources.
- Works closely with the receiving department to ensure proper supplies arrive.
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
- Establish and maintain an effective professional working relationship with coworkers.
- Be familiar with and support the effort of implementing quality policies and quality management systems.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business related field desired; High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/inventory management experience required.

- Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- May be occasional overnight travel required.
