About this opportunity
Responsible for maintaining the production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds for TC Transcontinental. Major duties include Conducting and refining on preventive maintenance programs, performing maintenance tasks in support of plant modernization and expansion projects, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and improving equipment availability and reliability. Responsible for meeting safety, production, quality, and performance standards.
What you will do
- Maintains the production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds
- Performs varied maintenance duties to include work orders and preventive maintenance to meet established maintenance and operations objectives.
- Organizes work for smooth, efficient operations. Accurately tracks all time and materials used to perform work orders and other repairs using both manual and electronic means.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and performs necessary repairs. Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager before modifying any plant equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
- Ensures work area is kept clean
- Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met
- Provides support to production operator and crew members
- Drives continuous improvement activities
- Maintains all the production machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and performs necessary repairs.
- Ensures machine Preventive Maintenance (PM) is performed according to the schedule
- Cleans the maintenance shop
- Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines; Follows established safety guidelines; holds self and others accountable
- Initiates and supports improvement initiatives
- Completes repairs and project in a timely manner with downtime management in mind
- Makes "run / don't run" call with input from supervisor
- Ensures everyone has the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ensures everyone follows established safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as instructed by Supervisor
What you have to offer
- Industrial maintenance operations experience
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of progressive industrial maintenance experience
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and have a working knowledge of PLC controlled equipment.
- Skills need to include but not limited to the troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment. This includes AC and DC variable speed drives, heat controllers, packaging equipment, printing presses, pneumatic and hydraulic controlled devices.
