Description
The Technology Support Specialist is a member of the Business Systems and Technology team and is jointly responsible for the administration of the TCI technology platform, software systems and applications. The Specialist is responsible for upgrading, replacing, and maintaining TCI’s technology, including software and hardware where it pertains. Additionally, the Specialist provides application and user support to ensure TCI systems are secure, reliable, and operating correctly. The position requires a strong understanding of current technology used by a Registered Investment Advisors (RIA). The Specialist will partner with the Business Systems Analyst and Chief Operating Officer on technology solutions for TCI.
Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technology Support Specialist can expect to focus in the following areas:
Execute on technology deliverables in the TCI business strategy and the implementation of new technology per the direction of project leads.
Responsible for TCI technology administration including user account set up, initial training, user profiles, installing or updating software, troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues, security models, and workstation set up.
Responsible for all TCI employee IT requests made via helpdesk tickets, chat, email or phone, passing issues up the chain of command as necessary, and managing issues with vendor helpdesks. Additionally, responsible for remotely accessing and assisting other employees outside of the home office.
Responsible for the management of TCI hardware inventory (e.g., laptops, desktops, docks, and monitors) and replacement of old hardware.
Act as administrator for all of TCI’s phishing prevention and monitoring as well as TCI’s endpoint protection service, Sophos.
Creating, editing, and maintaining TCI’s technology documentation.
Run analytics on inventory and/or common issues and make business suggestions based on your findings.
Assist in the monitoring and management of TCI’s phone systems, Zoom.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, MIS, or a related degree
1 – 3 years proven success in a technology support or business systems role
An elevated understanding of PC systems and repairs, as well as network management
Advanced technical proficiency in software programs relevant to position-related responsibilities
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Client-first attitude
Able to actively listen and exhibit patience during training and troubleshooting
Able to work independently and establish priorities with limited direction
Must be decisive, organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness and capability to travel; work outside the scope of normal business hours as needed
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to execute with limited information and ambiguity
Present a professional and personable demeanor in representing TCI
