Title Teacher

Atlantic Community Schools is seeking a dynamic Title 1 Teacher to join our talented team.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with elementary students and recognize the critical importance education plays in the development process of children. The Title 1 teacher will be responsible for creating a learning environment conducive to student achievement and development through maintaining high expectations and a high standard of rigor in the following areas: Instruction, Design and Planning, The Learning Environment, and Professionalism. The title 1 teacher 4-5 will report to the Schuler Elementary Principal.

Job Duties and Tasks:

• Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and policies and procedures to maintain order among students.
• Confer with parents, teachers, and administrators on student data and diagnostic testing.
• Test students with different diagnostic tests that will pinpoint the skills that students need to work on.
• Teach interventions targeted to skills that students need based on diagnostic testing.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction.
• Progress monitor students with different reading interventions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Communicates and comprehends verbally and in writing.
• Reads, analyzes and evaluates student performance data and course curriculum.
• Performs functions from electronic, oral and written instructions and from district policies. Ability to evaluate various written materials, including assignments and tests.
• Fluent knowledge of student development of reading.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Elementary Education Degree
• Valid Iowa Teaching License
• Reading Endorsement
• Knowledge of IDEA laws and regulations
• Iowa Fingerprint Clearance background check
• Mandatory Reporter: Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Certification

Computer Programs used at ACSD: Google Suite, Seesaw, Zoom, IXL, and JMC software.
