General Characteristics:
- Supervises computer operations within the data center.
- Assigns tasks to staff and ensures their work performance is monitored.
- Manages daily activities to resolve problems and handle change management issues.
- Ensures production systems' online response time meets requirements.
- Maintains system availability and prepares metrics to evaluate system performance.
- Collaborates with IT groups and users to ensure service objectives are met.
Dimensions:
- Education: Requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of IT work experience in computer operations with exposure to multi-platform environments. Experience in leading teams and projects is necessary.
- Breadth: Holds a first-level management position in data center operations, working under the general direction of middle-level management. Manages multiple processes within the operations area and mentors technical staff.
This role involves a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and coordination skills to ensure smooth operations within the data center environment.
