What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro AV Technician position at Tech Electronics?
POSITION OVERVIEW
Performs installation and/or moves, adds and changes for Tech Electronics' Sound and Audio Visual systems at the customer or project site assuring that Tech Electronics' standards of quality are maintained. In addition to Sound and Audio Visual system installation and service this position will generate sales at the customer site as requested or needed.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for overseeing the entire installation and/or service repair process of Tech Electronics systems at the project or customer site; ensures that the system installation and/or service meets the needs of the customer.
- Escalates safety issues, system performance issues and/or customer issues to the Sound/AV Project Manager to ensure proper resolution of issues as needed.
- Responsible for overseeing the entire system repair process of Tech Electronics' systems at the customer site; ensures that the system repairs meet the needs of the customer.
- Maintains accurate and complete paperwork for each and every service work order; turns in all paperwork associated with the service request per company processes.
- Works directly with the Sound/Audio Visual customer service representative in obtaining work order information and/or material required for the service and/or move, add or change; Provides the Sound/Audio Visual Customer Service representative the time on and off of assigned work orders along with the status of each work order.
- Obtains and maintains manufacturer and industry certifications as scheduled by the Sound/AV Project Manager.
- Assists Sound/AV Systems Designer/Engineer when additional design or programming support is needed.
- Maintains a detailed understanding of all local and national codes applicable to Tech Electronics' system installations and ensures system installations adhere to applicable codes.
- Continuously in contact with other team members related to assigned work order.
- Maintains stock of company vehicles as specified by the Sound/AV Project Manager to effectively support the position.
- Oversees all work performed by Subcontractors at project site.
- Understands and adheres to the installation and safety standards developed and defined by the Company and administered by the General Foreman.
- Generate sales while on service calls when customer has additional application needs.
- Responsible for suggesting methods to improve operations, processes, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.
Secondary Functions
- Responsible for participating in the After Hours Service rotation per IBEW Contract.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent industry work experience.
- Detailed working knowledge of the National Electric Code and the BOCA National Building Codes.
Experience:
- Four or more years working in Sound/AV field.
License(s)/Certification(s) Required:
- Valid MO Class E Driver's License or equivalent from state of residency
- Obtain and maintain InfoComm CTS-I
- Valid state Driver's License
- Must maintain Automobile Liability Insurance with minimum limits of:
- $100,000 each person
- $300,000 each accident
- $100,000 property damage
Travel Required: 5% of time could be utilized in out-of-town travel
