What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trainer position at Technical Associates?
Overview
Trainer to teach and support operators in the specified area of a paper manufacturing plant. Work schedule will be 8 hours/day, 5 Days/Week.
Responsibilities
- Will train new hires on the following items:
- Operational standards of the department’s equipment.
- Changeover standards/processes of the department’s equipment.
- Start-up/shut down procedures.
- Teach new hires to identify the 7 types of defects.
- Responsible for auditing department equipment for defects and assisting on returning equipment to base condition.
- Tracking progress of new hires on the department’s equipment.
Essential Functions
- Ability to work at heights and climb stairs/ladders/platforms, etc., on and around equipment for the purpose of operating, maintaining and simple troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push and pull objects requiring up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to kneel, squat, twist, turn and bend at the knees and back
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs (some of the equipment is elevated).
- Must be capable of walking the distance from parking lot to designated job area (may be 1 mile ), in addition to walking throughout a large manufacturing plant during course of day for required meetings and other required duties.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools, lift 50 lbs.
- PPE required for this facility is steel toe safety shoes, ear protection, and eye protection.
