Job Title: PTRI Employment Navigator
Reports to (title): Director of Diversion Services

Job Scope: Under the general guidance of the Employment Supervisor and PTRI Case Managers, this position works with participants of TEEM’s Pre-Trial Release Initiative to find them stable and secure employment custom designed for the personality of the individual. The Employment Navigator will work with a robust team of staff to provide a compassionate and evidence based approach to finding employment for justice impacted people.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist participants in building resumes and seeking employment
- Network with employers in the geographic area TEEM serves, building relationships in the process in order to provide stable job opportunities for our participants.
- Coach participants in best practices for an interview, how to navigate current job markets, how to retain employment, and various other employment specific life skills.
- Maintain organized records and forms on all participants you meet with, paying close attention to detail in between appointments
- Keep in close communication with other Employment Navigators, providing real time information on fluctuations and openings in the local job market.
- Travel to and attend Career Fairs in the area in order to build new partnerships and collaborations with employers who are actively hiring.
- Advocate for participants to their employers as needed.
- Assist in event planning and implementation such as in-house Career Fairs and Career Trainings
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess valid Driver’s License and personal transportation
- Justice impacted individuals are heavily encouraged to apply
- Possess a basic understanding of people in need and/or impacted by the criminal justice system and how to work with such individuals without enabling them.
- Possess a knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in computer software programs.
- Possess a history of positive interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to relate to participants and the public in a positive manner.
- Ability to track, document, and maintain up-to-date and accurate records.
- Ability to perform effectively in a changing environment and versatile in dealing with a wide range of people, situations and circumstances.
- Demonstrates commitment to the TEEM philosophy, concept, and program.
- Ability to adhere to TEEM’s policies and procedures.
Education and Work Experience:
Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Education Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: Two years direct services or employment placement experience preferred.
