Outreach Coordinator (6 month contract to hire)
The OC will identify and/or coordinate events, provide outreach, education and enrollment services and attend outreach events as assigned in a region of North Carolina. The OC may be assigned to a North Carolina DSS County office and support DSS leadership and staff by assisting with subject matter questions regarding the NCEB processes and handle complex or escalated issues. Regular attendance is required, ability to travel weekly within assigned region of NC is required, ability to work nights and weekends is required and this is a remote position. Mileage and travel time for outreach events will be compensated.
Responsibilities:
• Represent the client throughout North Carolina.
• Initiate communication and work directly with agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs), Medicaid beneficiaries and stakeholders as well as the assigned DSS county office or county offices if applicable.
• Identify and submit proposed events that meet established criteria for the NCEB to attend.
• Attend and represent the client at virtual and in person community events including but not limited to health/vendor fairs, Facebook Lives, EB only table events, Drive Thru, presentations, and CBO events to provide outreach, education and enrollment services.
• Assist members in choosing a Managed Care health plan or provider as appropriate. • Complete timely and error free reporting, such as Notification of Event (NOE), Post-NOE and other reports as assigned.
• Independently and proficiently navigate between program specific tools and applications (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, and Zoom)
• Attend meetings or complete other duties as assigned by leadership
• Provide recommendations on best practices and/or process efficiencies to supervisor • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times
• Ensure work area is HIPAA compliant.
• Strictly adhere to the established criteria for contacting, educating, and enrolling recipients.
• OC will use approved scripting to educate the target audience on the role of the Enrollment Broker as well as the enrollment options available to beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
• Ability to travel throughout North Carolina as requested.
• Associate degree from an accredited college or university required or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in community outreach, field enrollment or outreach to special needs population.
• Experience with Medicaid Managed Care and the needs of Medicaid consumers or Medicaid preferred.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Solid customer service and client relationship skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evening and weekends.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, Excel and Power Point). • Working knowledge of computer-based platforms and programs
• Cultural sensitivity, customer service and problem resolution experience • Remote working location with internet capabilities (minimum internet speed of 40 MPBS) • Provide own equipment (smart phone, computer, table/chair for events, etc.)
