What are the responsibilities and job description for the Web Developer position at Tek Systems?
Description:
Shopko Optical lost their permanent web developer. they want us to backfill this as a contract to hire: Currently there web applications are written in Wordpress: They have a third party company called Element that can helpl support that environment. This person will be responsible for helping move from Wordpress to a HTML 5 and CSS 3 environment, to help begin a modern architeture that can also support mobile applications. This person will have a lot of ability to help design the environment and give their expertise. These web applications are for current customers to schedule appointments, pick out eyeware, patient portal, update profile Currently Shopko Optical is gorwing quickly. This year they plan to add 50 stores and they have been given a lot the opportunity to invest in there IT and bring it to a more modern environment. One major project this person will also be involved in with be to rebuild there intranet. currently it is a rudamentry service today and they would like to build that out. Overtime a new practice management solution with API capability they would want to build new web applications that leverage API to do different functionality. This person will really help set the direction of the web environment. This person can be invovled in selecting different tools, etc. Largest project will be moving from Wordpress to HTML/CSS. Will work closely with the Chief Marketing officer. Building out additional web applications and having an expert to come in and take ownership.
