Job Description
Position: Big Data Engineer
Location: 100% Remote, Canada
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job description:
- Manage smooth operations & data availability on the Hadoop data lake
- The key point of contact for client stakeholders during Canadian hours
- Interacting with users to discuss/troubleshoot/resolve incidents/tickets related to data, jobs, SLOs
- Providing guidance on issue resolutions within SLO/SLA
- Provide design solutions to enhancements
- Lead RCA & preventive measures
- Lead code promotion activities
- Hands-on analysis, development & fixes as/when needed
Skills
- Data warehousing Experience must.
- ETL pipelines using PySpark must.
- ELT pipelines using SQL must.
- Big data tools: PySpark & Hadoop must
- Snowflake SQL is preferred
- Bitbucket code management must.
- CICD knowledge must.
- Understanding and implementation knowledge of various Microsoft Azure Tools (ADF, Databricks, Azure synapse) preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of MS Azure DevOps preferred.
- Should have experience in Agile methodology must.
- Retail experience is preferred.
