TEKsystems has a customer is in the hospitality/global attractions industry. They are modernizing one of their existing attractions in Las Vegas by implementing a new Point of Sale (POS) system. If successful, the solution will be rolled out to their other attractions. They need a senior IT Project Manager for 6 - 9 months to lead this project. The PM can expect to work onsite 2 - 3 days/week, particularly in the early going and around UAT and go-live. During the middle portion of the project most of the work can be done from home. The PM will manage the 3rd party vendor, ensure stakeholders (marketing, sales, execs, etc.) are aligned, drive the project to completion, etc. He/she should probably be more infrastructure focused rather than software applications. Our client emphasized that the Project Manager needs very good structure and a sound methodology (mixture of agile and waterfall). He/she also needs to have outstanding communication skills and excellent documentation, along with very sound processes. Formal Job Description: The candidate will assist in leading and coordinating the successful deployment of a new POS (Point of Sale) Solution at an attraction in Las Vegas. They will be expected to liaise closely with the client and 3rd party stakeholders. They will be working closely with a pre-selected vendor on the technical solution, but will also be responsible for ensuring the successful roll-out of infrastructure, policies and processes that align with the new POS system. EXPERIENCE NECESSARY ? Proven experience with Project Management in an IT environment ? A strong understanding of formal project management methodologies ? Previous experience leading a rollout of a POS solution or similar attraction software ? Familiarity with the hospitality industry and associated system applications is desired CORE JOB DUTIES ? Develop and execute against a comprehensive and well-documented project plan with timelines, resources and activities ? Liaise with Business stakeholders to establish a clear project scope, list of project objectives, and measurements for success ? Monitor and control project progress, risks, decisions and issues, with comprehensive documentation ? Act as the main point of communication for all upstream and downstream stakeholders, with scheduled status reports, steering meetings and vendor calls as well as accurate documentation ? Coordinate the procurement, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure and hardware devices required for the system rollout. ? Conduct site assessments to ensure readiness for hardware installation and provide onsite support as needed. ? Coordinate with technical teams to develop, configure and customize the system and interfaces to meet business requirements ? Oversee testing of solution, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate system functionality and usability ? Manage change requests, and communicate updates to stakeholders ? Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution. ? Coordinate the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process or system to the business. ? Document lessons learned and best practices for future reference and continuous improvement. DESIRED QUALITIES AND BEHAVIORS ?
