This is 100% Remote but needs to sit in NC for customer reasons. They may ask this resource to be onsite the first few weeks to get acclimated to environment but then will be remote. Azure Cloud Engineer - Job Summary: The individual in this position will serve as the primary subject matter expert responsible for the engineering and support of the corporation’s Azure Cloud platform with multiple tenants and subscriptions. This platform includes critical global services such as Azure compute and storage systems, Active Directory replication, linguistic translation services, Express Route connectivity and other ancillary technologies. In addition, this position will also have further responsibilities in other related foundational and layered core Data Center technologies such as Active Directory security and administration, DNS, Windows Operating Systems, Hyper-V Virtualization, and Identity Management. This position will be responsible for being one of the System’s representatives on project initiatives relating to Azure Cloud operations as well as a primary resource in our Change Impact Committee (CIC) meetings. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area: Primary Azure Platform Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results are to: • Provide input to other functions and act as the global subject matter expert • Ensure the platform’s availability and integrity for the productivity of the corporation’s associates • Enforce necessary security standards in conjunction with the Security Team as they evolve • Engineer and set direction for any recommended architecture changes, best practices, or enhancements • Carefully manage the platform to comply with ITIL and SOX auditable parameters as needed • Understand and manage the operational costs in the Azure cloud environment. • Interact with Legal to ensure that global data privacy laws are met • Provide automation services using PowerShell scripting (and/or other scripting language(s) as needed. • Azure AD MFA skills strongly desired • Engage in the Microsoft vendor relationship as it relates to this offering including working with our MSFT LAR to ensure all licensing and contractual obligations are met • Manage authentication and system provisioning mechanisms for associates to ensure the best cyber security posture in preparation of or in response to cyber-threats (e.g., Ransomware) • Facilitate the integration of applications to the Azure platform • Lead or participate in simple to complex projects that require Azure services as part of their successful delivery • Design and practice disaster recovery access to Azure (as needed) during scheduled mock tests and during a real disaster recovery process • Understand how Infrastructure or Application changes may affect the Azure platform • Collaborate with the Network team to ensure the network can support the needs of the Azure platform Secondary Systems Team Role Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results are to: • Assist the Active Directory team to determine structure, sites and services configuration, federations to ancillary systems and determining and proposing the best practice standards for securing our environment against potential threats • Assist and participate in various aspects of Windows Operating Systems optimization and standardization including following standards for installations, maintenance, capacity planning, disaster recovery, SOP content, security, and patch management as directed • Assist as needed with various technologies including Microsoft’s Hyper-V, VMWare, Remote Desktop or Citrix, or other acquired technologies as required • Act as infrastructure representative on major projects regarding the secondary responsibilities if requested General Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results as part of the Systems Team are to: • Develop and documents guidance’s and SOP’s in order to set direction and strategy • Demonstrate the use of good prioritization and time management skills • Demonstrate active listening through acknowledgement and application of information received – know the audience to facilitate optimal communications • Compose and presents proposals and written documents at an appropriate level of detail that express ideas in a clear and concise manner • Work effectively with people that have different views • Display a sense of urgency • Collaborate with all internal and external third-party Tier 3 resources to resolve problems and issues • Understand the nuances of working in a global environment • Coordinate with appropriate persons to ensure that we comply with all published policies and procedures
