Overall Responsibility:
As the Director, Learning & Development at Telarus, you will manage a critical segment of our business, with primary responsibility for all aspects of the education programs for our Telarus advisors (our customers), our employees and our suppliers. In this role, you will be responsible for program creation, curriculum & material development and the management of a team of talented educators who administer and create programming for our constituents.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- You will be the owner of our learning and development (L&D) strategy and will be the primary expert on adult-learning on our team, so a track record of success planning and implementing programs and curriculum to achieve outcomes is critical.
- Design and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies to meet the organization's objectives and enhance employee skills.
- Lead the learning and development team, setting departmental goals, managing performance, and supporting professional growth.
- Assess organizational learning needs through consultation with constituents and business leaders and analysis of performance metrics.
- Telarus training is offered live and in person, live-virtually and on-demand through our learning management system, currently Learn-Upon. You will advocate for innovative learning approaches, integrating relevant technologies such as e-learning, virtual classrooms, etc when appropriate, to achieve goals.
- Oversee the creation of educational materials, including digital learning courses, workshop content, and instructional guides.
- Manage & build the learning management system (LMS) and ensure the delivery of high-quality, accessible training resources.
- Work with product and engineering teams to integrate our LMS with our primary customer portal.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing feedback and data to make informed improvements.
Requirements:
- Experience driving B2B educational program design, hands-on curriculum development, and team management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage business and expense ROI on a learning & development program, including metric management and KPI establishment for success measurement
- Collaborate effectively with the organization to achieve results - building a deep relationship where our coworkers are trusted partners and allies working as one team. Marketing is a highly matrixed function and partnership, and transparency is required for success, especially in this role where the subject matter experts for courses are not always in our organization.
- A track record of delivery on complex projects, using strong organizational skills, and the ability to influence and work cross-functionally.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively market the work of the team both internally and externally.
- Passionate about adult learning and education - both the art and the science.
- Ability to embrace change as the role evolves.
- Experience building and/or managing a high-performing, results-focused team.

- Set and execute the overall learning strategies for our customers, employees, and suppliers that drives awareness in our addressable markets and engagement with our content to signal intent to our internal teams.
- Lead the teams: inspire them, remove roadblocks, acknowledge their challenges, and help them find a path to success.
- Leadership alignment: facilitate the conversations required to gain agreement among leaders within this team and with leaders outside this team.
- Oversee the management of the L&D budget to ensure every dollar is being used to maximum effectiveness to drive business outcomes and that offers are positioned properly in the market.
