Director of Human Resources
Exempt
Responsible for the optimal development and implementation of the Company’s HR initiatives to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, particularly in talent management, total rewards, and culture/organizational effectiveness. Responsible for actively integrating the business strategy with people management practices.
Summary Of Responsibilities
Counsel and coach employees, supervisors, managers, and directors regarding personnel related issues, laws, policies and other core HR functions.
Consult with managers and supervisors regarding interpretation and administration of Human Resources policies, programs, procedures and compliance with applicable state/federal statutes and regulations.
Maintain in-depth current knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance. Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve the HR processes and initiatives to enhance overall business performance and capabilities.
Assist with recruiting and training and development programs
Maintain all HR policies and assist in interpretation while ensuring compliance to all governmental requirements and regulations. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Investigates and resolves Employee Relations issues and complaints. Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsel managers on employment issues.
Key Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Management or related field from an accredited school or university.
Three years exempt-level experience in human resources management, with a working knowledge of the functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to employment law, compensation, employee benefits, recruitment, organizational planning, HRIS, employee relations, and training/development.
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity within a complex, dynamic, and rapidly changing business environment
Proven ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution
Proven ability to prioritize the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities
Prior HRIS database experience is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft suite of products
Ability to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or SCP Certification strongly preferred
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
