TITLE: Electrician
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits, systems and equipment; perform duties in collaboration with other trades areas as required in order to maintain District facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED
- Five (5) years of journeyman level experience as a skilled electrician
- State of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain and repair a variety of electrical equipment and controls including lighting systems, branch circuitry, power distribution and control circuitry.
- Install electrical services for new equipment including computer labs, recirculation desks, kitchen equipment, copiers, printers, A/C units, kilns, classroom relocations.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and service fire alarm systems for the safety of students and personnel.
- Maintain and service intercom systems, kitchen equipment, and security systems.
- Inspect and test various electrical systems for proper functioning.
- Revamp electrical systems for remodels and renovations.
- Support schools with electrical needs for other activities such as fund raising events, PTA events, and Kid Zone.
- Maintain records on time, labor and materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials common to the electrical trade
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards and regulations
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions
- Skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of electrical systems and components
- Skill in the care and use of hand tools and equipment necessary to perform various electrical repair tasks
- Skill in both verbal and written communication
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to use graphic instructions such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids
