Description:
The Events & Marketing Coordinator is an employee of the Temple Chamber of Commerce and reports to the Chamber President/CEO. The position is responsible for coordinating Chamber events along with marketing associated with events and daily operations of the organization.

Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversees planning and logistics for on-site and off-site organization events and meetings
· Analyzes event schedule and develops strategies for resources and communication
· Manages member, sponsor, and organization’s expectations with clear, persuasive and timely communication
· Establishes vendor relationships and vendor pricing for all aspects of event planning; able to negotiate and persuade business partners and vendors to gain cooperation, make cost effective decisions and achieve objectives
· Coordinates and supports volunteer committees organized to develop and produce Chamber events
· Produces invitations, thank you letters, and as needed correspondence to sponsors and volunteers who support Chamber events
· Designs event promotional materials
· Secures photos at Chamber functions to use for Chamber materials (website, social media)
· Organizes social media schedule/posts and maintains active accounts to engage the community, membership, and visitors
· Maintains and updates website content
· Establishes marketing ideas for organizational events, programs, and membership outreach
· Communicates with local media sources to promote Chamber activities
· Supports the other Chamber staff and programming as needed
· Performs other duties as assigned or required
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
· Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
· Well-developed written and oral communication skills
· Strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premier Pro, and Canva with the ability to learn new technology/software applications
· Social media savviness
· Desire to live, work, and play in the community

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to:
· Stand and sit, often for prolonged periods
· Work with various business/printing/postage machines
· Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
· Talk and receive verbal messages
· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds for short distances
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee may be required to conduct business outside of the headquarters office and should be able to operate a moving vehicle to carry out duties. The individual must have the ability to get in and out of ground transportation multiple times each day.
Work Environment:
The majority of duties will be performed in and from the Chamber’s office during regular business hours. At program and event peak times, the position will be required to cover hours outside of the typical work week and work hours. Some work off-site will be required, as well as work in the evenings.
Time Commitment:
The position is considered full-time, with additional hours required.
Salary:
Commensurate with experience/qualifications.
