Responsibilities:
- PTA provides comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
- PTA assists PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
- Physical Therapist Assistant documents the patient’s daily participation and progress on progress notes in an accurate and timely fashion and obtains the co-signature of the PT.
- PTA ensures MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications, and discharges.
- Physical Therapist Assistant adheres to all other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA
- Physical Therapist Assistant holds a current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable)
