This position is responsible for the design, procurement and servicing of special tools, machines and fixtures required to support the capital, new part and cost reduction programs of the plant. Provide engineering support for all existing products being produced.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements
- Managing welding procedures, processes, and documentation.
- Generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teams.
- Provide accurate information on methods, tooling and equipment required to manufacture products being quoted
- Design and specify tools and capital machinery; obtain approval for funds disbursement; control construction quality and timing; and assist in installation and start-up at the plant
- Assist in maintaining plant productivity, quality and profitability by resolving process deficiencies and/or by suggesting process improvement
- Troubleshoot the operation of tools, fixtures and machines as requested to correct or improve their operation
- Improve existing GMAW welding equipment, develop new welding equipment, develop new welding methods, techniques, and procedures and modify current welding methods, techniques and procedures
- Work with Controls Engineer to maintain and improve vision poka-yokes that apply to welded components.
- Lead weld automation projects and provide engineering expertise in robots and power supplies.
- Work with maintenance technicians to create, verify and maintain documentation in regard to weld modifications.
- Train maintenance and operating on manufacturing weld process to improve understanding
- Implement cost reduction proposals and follow-up to ensure success in achieving project goals
- Coordinate with the organization’s internal teams to improve product quality and meet customer requirements
