Graphic Designer 1/Production Specialist

Division of Publications

Mission: The mission of the Office of the Secretary of State is to exceed the expectations of our customers, the taxpayers, by operating at the highest levels of accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and accountability in a customer-centered environment.

Supervisor: Director of Publications

Summary: Responsible for supporting the general functions of the Division of Publications and assisting with various print and design projects, including the publishing of the Tennessee Blue Book.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Design graphics for print and the web, including social media platforms.

· Be responsible for project management and printing of department publications and graphics. This includes designing, bidding, and fulfillment.

· Assist in the project management, content acquisition, and layout of the Tennessee Blue Book and the Tennessee Acts and Resolutions.

· Track all projects, tasks, and deadlines in the Teamwork project management application.

· Process documents according to the laws, regulations, and policies.

· Cross-train in the division and provide coverage and production assistance as needed.

· Provide exceptional customer service.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

· Equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree.

· Equivalent combination of relevant experience may be substituted for education as appropriate.

Knowledge and Abilities:

· Extensive knowledge and use of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.

· Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must.

· Detailed-oriented and thorough.

· Proofing skills.

· Working knowledge of best practices for design and printing.

· Working knowledge of project management software.

· Knowledge and use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Other office and clerical skills are beneficial.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift boxes up to 35 pounds and assist in deliveries.

Salary: $40,000.00 annually plus the State of Tennessee benefits package.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
