Store Manager Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Sales: Strategically lead the team in achieving store sales goals: identifying opportunities, maximizing potential, implementing key targets, and monitoring progress and results.
- Brand Experience/Customer Service: Exemplify an optimistic and energetic presence while building strong relationships with customers and employees to maximize loyalty and build brand recognition. Model & foster a consumer-centric mindset, demonstrating genuine interactions in selling behaviors and customer care.
- Creating a Compelling Store Environment: Ensure product is always available to the customer and presented in a compelling way that showcases latest trends. Ensure the store is consistently customer-ready: recovered throughout the day and at closing. Uphold company standards of a ‘neat, clean, and organized store’ including sales floor, cash wrap, fitting room, and stockroom.
- Hiring & Leading the Team: Hire, train, supervise, & develop high caliber talent to maintain brand integrity and achieve goals. Manage scheduling of employees to support customer traffic and sales targets, including special promotions or holidays. Maintain a positive attitude- staying flexible to changing needs of the customer and the business.
- Maintain Proper Inventory Levels: Ensure sales floor is properly stocked with inventory: new product worked to floor in a timely manner, awareness and feedback on best sellers/missing categories, and communicating with buying and planning team as needed to meet sales goals. Execute efficient and effective handling of all merchandise from shipment processing, product moves and floorsets, to markdowns.
- Manage all controllable costs: Adhere to budgets (scheduling and labor hours, store supplies, utilities) and protect company assets including loss prevention through theft or damage. Comply with company safety, security, and shrink avoidance policies and programs.
- Brand Outreach: Through diligence and consistency in customer care, you will build a community of loyal brand fans. Encourage Social Media engagement through customer satisfaction. Awareness and approved participation in community &/or mall happenings to best promote Tenshoppe.
- Professional Conduct: Model behavior that respects the background, experience, and cultural differences of others while upholding the integrity and values of Tenshoppe.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum 4 years of clothing retail management or comparable experience
· Minimum 2 years interviewing, hiring, training & development experience
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to receive feedback and act on it when appropriate
· Ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast‐paced and deadline‐oriented environment
· Proficient with technology
· Knowledge of and passion for current women's fashion trends
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
· Able to stand and move about for extended periods of time with only short rest breaks
· Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
