Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients. Your excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will ensure the smooth operation of our surgeon. Secondary you will help with clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgical procedures for patients, ensuring all necessary information is obtained
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries. Communicating with all hospitals and surgery center daily for updates.
- Obtain pre-authorization from insurance companies for surgical procedures
- Communicate with patients regarding surgery dates, pre & post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing and coding for surgical procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing paperwork, and managing patient records
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical office setting with surgery expierence is highly desired
- Familiarity with medical records management and scheduling software EMR like- eClinicalWorks, athena etc. (ECW is a bonus)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Room patients, take vitals, run clinic as needed
Prefer someone with surgery scheduling experience. Scheduling includes multiple departments and sometimes multiple hospitals or locations with multiple authorizations. You will need a strong personality that can push through politics at locations and insurance demands.
Pay depends on experience. Plenty of room for growth and learning at our faciity. Our staff works as a team to get the patients taken care of. If you can be a part of a team but assertive, this is the place for you. We are looking for a solid, long term staff member. Someone that shows up everyday and has a great work ethic.
