Our café is seeking a skilled and experienced Food and Beverage Director to oversee all aspects of food and beverage operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the overall efficiency, profitability, and quality of the cafe's food and beverage offerings. They will lead a team of kitchen and front-of-house staff and ensure that all staff members adhere to the cafe's standards of customer service, hygiene, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the cafe's food and beverage strategy, including menu development, pricing, and promotions.
- Manage inventory and ordering of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring that costs are kept within budget.
- Create and implement processes for staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Maintain high levels of food quality, presentation, and consistency by regularly monitoring the kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Work collaboratively with other managers to achieve overall business objectives.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring that expenses are within the allocated budget.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve the cafe's operations and profitability
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
- Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including menu development, cost control, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, staff, and vendors.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other managers and team members.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful food and beverage strategies.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and food handling standards
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop and manage budgets.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field is preferred, but not required.
