What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Terra Cafe?
Terra Cafe is actively seeking qualified candidates for hands in the bakery. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience, including working in a bakery or pastry production role, and will look forward to brand growth as well as growth within the company.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in full service, multi-service restaurants/cafes/bakeries or relevant culinary school training
- Strong understanding of basic cooking methods, strong knife skills, practical knowledge of all kitchen equipment
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Flexible schedule, able to work weekends and holidays
-Strong desire to perform, task-driven and goal oriented individual
-Passionate about eating great food, discussing food and industry topics
-Takes direction and criticism well, remains open minded and shows willingness to learn and/or practice new techniques
Responsibilities:
-Maintains station, stocking, rotating, prepping and cooking all items for service
-Prepares all case items and daily specials in accordance standards set by the Pastry Chef
-Maintains clean and sanitary work environment
-Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
-Assists and helps other kitchen staff to ensure a successful service
-Maintains a team-oriented environment
-Assists with putting orders away, stocking areas of the restaurant, helps maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate a plus, but can be obtained upon hiring
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
