Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Terracon is seeking an industrial hygienist to grow our existing building sciences, industrial hygiene, and safety consulting practices in Texas. This position offers an opportunity for an individual who is strong in client and business development and management, team building and mentoring, operations efficiency, and strategic planning and implementation. This position will work closely with operations, the Texas Division manager, and Environmental Service Line leadership to expand and elevate the practice in Texas, in addition to supporting growth and leadership of the practice at regional and national scales for Terracon.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Work with operations teams across the state regarding client and business development, including maximizing opportunities with existing clients and pursuing/securing opportunities with new clients.
Work with operations teams across the state with recruiting of talent to grow the practice, including support with identifying and landing strategic hires as well as improving current practices for recruiting and career development at all levels.
Lead strategic and business planning for the building sciences, industrial hygiene, and safety consulting practices, with an emphasis on growing the industrial hygiene and safety practices in Texas and the region.
Partner with local operations staff, the Texas Division Manager, and Environmental Service Line leadership in efforts to grow and elevate the practice through implementation of strategic and business operations plans.
Evaluate under-performing markets/operations and advise stakeholders on strategies and practices for improvement and optimization.
Partner with Texas leadership in the regulatory compliance practice to promote cross-selling and offer clients with a full package of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) services.
Participate in, and contribute to, the national industrial hygiene practice resource group – to connect with senior leaders from across the firm and grow and elevate the practice in an aligned fashion at regional and national scales.
Provide guidance, oversight, and technical expertise for areas of specialty, including supporting Terracon’s quality program by becoming an authorized project reviewer and subject matter expert.
Work with colleagues to develop and recommend policies, practices, and procedures in specialty area.
Serve as a resource to office personnel within the region and division.
Develop/deliver training in areas of expertise to offices in region.
Provide technical support on projects as needed.
Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects, including participating in pre-task planning and reporting any safety issues or concerns to management.
Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects and ensuring project team members and operations are maintaining such standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline practiced by the firm, including but not limited to engineering, environmental science, geology or industrial hygiene, and a minimum of 10 years’ related experience.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:

Professional licensure or certification in field(s) of expertise.
