What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional designer (eMH experience) Former Navy instructor position at TERRESTRIS, LLC?

Terrestris Global Solutions is seeking a full time Instructional Designer to support the Naval Housing Learning Center at Naval Air Stations Jacksonville Florida. The Housing Learning Center (HLC) provides innovative and technical training to Navy Housing and other DoD personnel composed of Civilian, Military, Foreign National and Contractor personnel working in support of the Family and Unaccompanied Housing functions. The Training Specialist will support the Naval Housing support leadership team and training team in various administrative tasks. This role is located onsite at NAS JAX and is not a remote role.

What does your day look like:

· The candidate shall be required to open and, or close facilities on a daily bases.

· The Candidate shall provide training support as directed by senior leadership

· The Candidate shall travel up to 20% and may be required to collaborate organize and strategize course content development requirements and content; and create off site training exercises required for CONUS locations.

· The Candidate shall be able to develop training in any applicable modality and or delivery method.

· The Candidate shall have a common desire to develop dynamic instruction to adult learners on topics directly related to Housing professionals.

· The Candidate will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.

· The Candidate will be responsible for improving and modifying the training for assigned courses.

· The Candidate will observe training and assess progress of students in meeting desired objectives, including advising and assisting them to improve their performance.

· The Candidate will prepare and maintain course records, files, progress reports, qualifications and other documentation as required for audit and historical purposes.

· The Candidate will develop and administer written and practical examinations

· The Candidate shall be familiar with the supporting instruction and guidance from CNIC and the Navy and maintain their familiarity with the instructions that impact course subject areas for development.

· The Candidate will follow the HLC style guide requirements when creating and or updating any training content.

· The Candidate will update as directed the HLC style guide to accommodate any new changes.

· The Candidate when creating and or updating the Instructor, Student guides, and any other supporting notebook, lab book or documents will follow the style guide.

· The Candidate when updating course content that requires printing, will update or create a print master file for that course.

· The Candidate will update or create training content and will create and advise timelines for course content development.

· The Candidate shall prepare content and recommend what technology, learning tools, applications and websites will be utilized to support course development.

Qualifications:

· The Candidate shall have a bachelor’s degree or higher.

· The Candidate shall have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in course development.

· The Candidate shall have past work experience in middle to upper management professional positions requiring leadership of personnel most often obtained in the housing field.

· The Candidate shall have professional knowledge of educational theories, principles, procedures and practices of secondary adult or continuing education.

· The Candidate shall be knowledgeable and experienced in management, organizational systems and development, group dynamics and development, and are experts in conflict resolution.

· The Candidate shall have excellent oral and written communication skills and can present even dry information dynamically.

· The Candidate shall excel at creating student- centered active learning experiences.

· The Candidate shall have a military background and are well versed in military protocol especially as it relates to the US Navy preferably as an E6 or higher.

· The Candidate shall have experience with using, and comfortable with teaching, Enterprise Military Housing (eMH) software application.

Required Training Specialist Skills:

· The Candidate shall use research based best practices for adult learning to reinforce learning through positive proactive course content ensuring that learning objectives are met and understood with in the developed content.

· The Candidate shall provide documented successful experience in course development for adult students.
