Job Description
TES Staffing is actively searching for a professional Payroll Specialist for one of Rochester's largest teaching hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with a stable, challenging and growth centric department.
Details:
Hours: M-F 8:30-5:00pm
Pay- $19-20hr, Depending on experience
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Payroll Duties – Processing:
- Process Payroll Correction and Payroll Adjustment Forms ensuring completeness & accuracy. Includes confirming valid additional compensation program, if applicable.
- Process Manual Pay Calculations related to Average Rate of Pay, if applicable
- Process On Demand Payroll Runs as Needed (Gift Certificates & Special Runs)
- Review, calculate & process disability report from disability carrier ensuring accurate payments. Includes troubleshooting issues.
- Process Stop Payments
- Submit reports as appropriate to key Managers relating to: 403(b), Vac/Sick Usage, Disability Payments and others as needed
- Submission of Direct Deposit File & Payment
- Submission of Positive Pay File
- Creation of Garnishment Reconciliation Report for Payment. Responsible for Garnishment Auditing and Determination of Payment.
- Download BSI Tax Factory Changes Weekly (Backup)
- Process Deduction Payment Requests / Notifications
- Check HSBCNet for Rejected Payments & Direct Deposits, and process adjustments as needed
- Back up for Other Payroll Specialist, including all duties related to processing of Regular & Supplemental Pay Runs
- Annually – Assist with W2 Processing
Payroll Duties – Customer Service/Admin:
- Answer incoming phone calls and/or visitors to the payroll office
- Customer service for Payroll Questions
- Process Wage Verification Forms & Disability Forms
- Process Unemployment Claim Forms
- Returned Payroll Items Mgmt (W-2’s, Checks & Remittances)
- Maintain Payroll Approval Listing
System/Process Support:
- Support Timekeepers/Managers/HR with inquiries and requests regarding Time & Attendance and Payroll, including but not limited to:
- Training of All New Timekeepers & Managers
- Training of staff on Time Clock Usage (as requested)
- Performing Annual Exception Log Audits for each Department to identify training needs and confirm controls are in place.
- Create / Update Payroll Forms & Policies
High School or G.E.D Required.
AAS Preferred
Payroll / HR / Office experience Preferred
Microsoft Excel Required
Additional Microsoft Products Preferred
ADP Experience Preferred
