Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing and achieving set sales and profit goals through strategic category development, comprehensive business analysis and continuous market research. The Account Manager will be the point of contact for the Product Development and Buying teams as well as manage the day-to-day communications and resolutions as required by the customer. This position will be responsible for developing and fostering the customer relationship as well as partnering with the customer to align strategies and produce mutually desired outcomes. This position requires strong communication skills, follow-through, attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize, proactive thinking and ownership of work.

The Account Manager will work both independently and collaboratively with the various Test Rite teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position:

The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background and professional expertise to provide the following below

  • Management of the day-to-day business of assigned categories.
  • Present materials to both internal and external partners in a professional manner.
  • Timely reporting of projects, presentations, follow-up, opportunities, and challenges.
  • Create and develop presentation materials for internal and external communication, including but not limited to Line Reviews, category development proposals and meeting updates/ recaps.
  • Provide a seamless point of contact for the customer through constant learning and understanding of all aspects of the business process.
  • Become a category expert on production, pricing, performance, positioning, competition, market trends, and be able to identify and capture available business opportunities.
  • Develop product assortments that follow customer direction, utilize historical sales data, competitive assessments, and trend information.
  • Develop and understanding of all data associated with the category and assist Sales Support Analyst in accurate reporting and analysis of weekly reports and data.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Communicate all account activities and strategies to Test Rite’s cross functional teams to ensure appropriate information flow for timely decisions and action.
  • Create item level strategies to maximize current business and capture available opportunities.
  • Set short and long term goals for self and cross functional teams, provide regular progress updates.
  • Collaborate with manager to support the direction and priorities for sales support associate.
  • Work with product team to facilitate the creation of internal and external marketing assets – including but not limited to product photography, marketing copy and other marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with internal replenishment team to understand Test Rite inventory and forecasting process and ensure appropriate customer inventory levels are managed.
  • Manage Risk and openly communicate with Directors and Managers to get further insight and direction.
  • Manage customer ecommerce goals, including required customer # of reviews, minimum average product ratings, develop required content that achieves desired customer content scores.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education needed to perform the job successfully:

- 5-7 years experience in management of products that are sourced offshore and a comprehensive understanding of globalization, markets, and manufacturing.

- 3-5 years of experience as account manager from any home décor categories or seasonal item retailor

B.A., BS, any field or equivalent experience.

· Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Strong time management skills

· Self-managed and driven to exceed expected results.

· Team player. Experience leading cross-functional teams that deliver desired results and sales.

Physical Demands:

· Extensive use of computer

· Load/unload samples

· Build/Assemble samples

· Communicate effectively via telephone, computer, video conference with both national and international teams

· Ability to use various methods of transportation as required for domestic and international travel

· Ability to spend 1-3 weeks outside of the U.S.

Work Conditions

General Office Environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
