What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Apprentice position at Tetra Tech Careers?

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Journeyman or Master Electrician with the installation of conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a professional manner with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
- Ability to assist in conducting electrical work in accordance with relevant codes, and customer specifications.
- Effectively generate and communicate detailed work records and paperwork.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- 0-4 years in the industrial electrical field in upstream Oil & Gas sector.
- Ability to help fabricate and install conduit, tray, wire and electrical equipment.
- Maintains an apprentice card showing that he or she is in an apprenticeship for the state of Texas.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and will need to meet the company and company's insurers driving policy requirements.
- Applicable regulatory safety training is a plus.
- Need to be fit for duty.
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of most electrical components commonly found in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
- Ability to work safely and recognize potential hazards.
- Competent with the use of tools and equipment as it relates to the electrical trade.
PERSONAL RELATION SKILLS:
- Must be a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality, accuracy and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
- Must be able to work collaboratively and cooperatively, take direction, work well in a team environment, and interact with all levels of management, engineering, systems, operations and field personnel.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Multimeter
- Megger
- Amp Probe
- Calibration equipment (Hart, Crystal, Loop calibrators, etc.)
- Handheld electrical tools needed to perform his or her job duties.
- Forklift, Manlift, trencher etc.
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Applicants need to be local to the west Texas area to work from Big Springs, TX to Carlsbad, NM on short notice.
- Position will work primarily in the field. Subject to time pressures and constraints and is also dependent on input from others.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and will need to meet the company's insurers driving policy requirements.
- Subject to a background check, as well as drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations.
