Tetra Tech, Inc. specializes in recovering communities after being significantly impacted by disasters or weather events. We are currently hiring for Collection Monitors to help monitor debris removal.
Employees in this position are the "on-site" monitor for the disposal of disaster-generated debris. A collection monitor tracks how much and what kind of disaster debris is picked up and disposed on a project. In certain instances, drainage ditches and work sites may be situated in remote areas, requiring individuals to traverse heavily wooded terrain alongside the contractor, which may not always be optimal.
This position is for immediate work, with no experience required because training will be provided to you. We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, dedicated individuals with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision. Job Responsibilities:
- Observe and document the loading and removal of disaster generated debris from within drainage ditches throughout the County.
- Verify the debris removal contractor is loading only eligible disaster-related debris from the approved drainage ditch segments. The eligibility criteria will be provided by the Tetra Tech supervisor as to ensure debris removal activities comply with federal requirements.
- Coordinate scheduling and access with private property owners based on the County and contractor’s schedule.
- Understand daily responsibilities set by the supervisor and project manager.
- Brief the supervisor on daily activities, debris removal progress, issues, or concerns.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work on weekends. (Saturday AND Sunday)
- Ability to work outdoors with possible inclement weather
- A valid drivers license
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work in heavily terrain, remote areas.
- Ability to work for long periods of time. Roughly 10 to 12 hours a day
- Possess reliable and dependable vehicle
- Ability to use a smartphone
- Provide valid I9 documentation
- Must be comfortable working at heights
- Good teamwork and cooperation skills
In order to be considered for this position, your driving record must not indicate any of the following during the past 3 years:
- Punitive suspension, denial or revocation of driver's license
- Conviction for impaired or intoxicated driving (DWAI, DUI, DWI)
- Conviction of: reckless driving, driving with a suspended/denied/revoked license, hit and run or leaving the scene
- Conviction of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or a combination of both
NO HOUSING OR RELOCATION WILL BE PROVIDED.
It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis. This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as-needed" basis and will end once the project is complete.

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
