Our WTR division is searching for a highly qualified HR Generalist to join our family of engineers and scientists. In this role, you will support numerous Human Resources functions to meet strategic, tactical and administrative Human Resources objectives. You will support many offices throughout the United States and must be able to communicate effectively with each. Your strong knowledge of employee relations, recruiting strategies/virtual technology, and employment law will be used to support HR initiatives. You will have the opportunity to lead a variety of HR-related projects and initiatives to raise the bar in HR service delivery and ensure compliance with policy and procedures. Supporting your client group will be primarily virtual with a preference to be close to one of our locations. This is a true generalist position with a strong emphasis on recruiting, engagement, and retention.
What You Will Do:
- Perform day-to-day HR support for managers and employees to include performance management, compensation management, recruitment, employee relations, and benefit and leave coordination
- Support recruitment efforts; may plan, participate and/or lead virtual career fairs and networking events; prepare job descriptions and post jobs as needed; interact between hiring managers and recruiter
- Educate and advise managers and employees on policies, procedures and best practices and recommend solutions to a variety of HR issues
- Provide coaching, counseling, and guidance to managers on employment-related issues
- Respond to employee questions/concerns on a variety of topics
- Create and implement strategies to improve employee engagement and retention
- Work closely with managers on performance management issues and document performance issues
- Manage new employee surveys
- Administer and track performance review/career development process
- Manage and maintain the WTR Human Resources SharePoint site
- Assist with creating and delivering training tools and presentations, as needed
- Conduct salary analysis for job offers and current staff to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity
- Assist HR team during annual enrollment and other companywide activities
- Coordinate closely with HR team regarding new hires, terminations, status changes, etc.
- Incorporate DE&I into all areas of Human Resources and support DE&I activities
- Provide back up support for the HR team
- Other duties as assigned
You Will Bring the Following Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures
- Comprehensive knowledge of the relevant laws and regulations pertaining to the human resources function
- Strong understanding of recruiting search strategies and tools
- Knowledge of market analysis, job pricing, job leveling, and other fundamentals of compensation management
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and confidence with a wide variety of employees and leaders as a trusted advisor and confidant. Ability to influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
- High level of professionalism and ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and understanding
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work independently and manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, characterized by respect for others, excellent listening skills, clear verbal, written and thinking skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail; ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
- Demonstrated experience driving organizational and culture change initiatives
- Strong project management, effective organizational skills, business and HR acumen
- Understanding and support for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Experience & Credentials:
- Minimum 5 years’ HR Generalist experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- PHR/SPHR preferred
- Experience with employee relations, employment law, policy interpretation, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, work authorizations, leaves of absence, workers compensation, unemployment related activities, HRIS and compensation and benefits
- Working knowledge of employment laws and practices including FLSA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, HIPAA and Affirmative Action
- Experience supporting a professional services organization with multiple locations is highly desired
- Strong PC skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms
- Experience with online Applicant Tracking Systems, preferable Taleo.
- Proficiency in the use of HRIS systems for employee data updates and reporting
- Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to work independently and manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
