Low carbon energy initiatives include commercialization of TETRA PureFlow®, an ultra-pure zinc bromide clear brine fluid for stationary batteries and energy storage; advancing an innovative carbon capture utilization and storage technology with CarbonFree to capture CO2 and mineralize emissions to make commercial, carbon-negative chemicals; and development of TETRA’s lithium and bromine mineral acreage to meet the growing demand for oil and gas products and energy storage.
Essential Duties:
- Analyze, draft review, and negotiate a myriad of contracts to ensure compliance with the company's policies or an attorney’s guidance.
- Review bid packages, draft a legal response to bid terms, and negotiate suitable terms and conditions for the resulting contracts.
- Prepare amendments to or extensions of existing contracts.
- Advising management of contractual risks, rights, and obligations.
- Coordinate with business units to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Ensure for each agreement that procedures are followed for the integrity of the company contract management database and records retention policies
- Capable of taking a lead role with senior management on issues pertaining to relevant contracts.
- Strong analytical skills associated with developing and utilizing contracting measures and initiatives.
- Respond to calls and emails regarding a variety of legal questions and other matters.
- Works with the legal’s team contracts database system, including maintaining efficient processes, troubleshooting, and generating reports.
- This position requires the ability to work effectively with various functions and teams within the company, and exceptional judgment and analytical skills.
- This role requires a candidate who works under minimal supervision with demonstrated ability to multitask, meet deadlines, learn quickly, demonstrate effective problem solving, follow-up skills compliance with company policies and procedures, is detail-oriented, is able to prioritize and reprioritize as needed to meet deadlines and is a team-focused collaborator.
Requirements:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree
- EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ of in-house experience, background in science or engineering
- LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Paralegal Certification from an ABA-approved program
- OTHER:
- Knowledge and understanding of current laws, codes, regulations, and rules related to the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge using Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
- Experience using Contract Management System; principles and practices of contract preparation and administration; technical aspects of contract processing; record-keeping techniques; preferably with experience related to commercial operations
