Patient Scheduler Position
We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our clinic as a Scheduler. As part of our team, you schedule appointments and procedures for patients and perform various data entry tasks necessary to the smooth functioning of the clinic. We operate with a high volume of patients and patient requests, meaning you must be well organized and able to multitask. Our ideal candidate has excellent phone and communication skills, as well as experience with electronic health records.
- Assist patients in making new appointments or adjusting existing appointments, scheduling procedures
- Manage schedules for physicians
- Communication via phone or in person with public and patients, assist with balance collections of payment plans.
- Input new patient data and retrieve data for authorized requests
- Contact insurance companies to verify relevant information
- Adjacent duties may include but are not limited to insurance verification and benefits/eligibility patient, referral source relations, communication of authorization/pre-cert for services, and other data entry.
- Communicates procedure information and patient instructions accurately, appropriately, professionally, and in a timely manner to patients and/or patient family members.
- Organizes time effectively, minimizing incidental overtime, and sets priorities
- Utilizes time between heavy workloads efficiently and helps other team members
- Works collaboratively with all departments within the organization and/or referring physician offices to optimize patient care
- Always maintains a professional attitude
- Flexible in meeting the needs of the department
- Facilitates a harmonious work environment, whereby treating all patients and coworkers with respect and dignity
Scheduler Requirements and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate
Prior administrative or customer service experience, preferably in a health care environment
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Data entry skills and experience
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Insurance knowledge and collecting and recording copays/deductibles/patient payments
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
