The Program Coordinator I, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of assigned program.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
Two years of related experience.
Preferred Education:
Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related field.
Preferred Experience:
Business management experience, scientific research experience.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Job Responsibilities
40%: Using advanced knowledge in a field of science or learning, administer the graduate program in the department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. Monitor and analyze graduate student progress and performances; Prepare academic and advising reports. Implement procedures that improve the graduate experience.
15%: Support recruiting and outreach efforts.
15%: Support admission efforts.
10% : Plan events that relate to the graduate program.
10% : Initiates, prepares and coordinates multi-investigator research training grants. Coordinates career training and advising of graduate students
5%: Administer graduate student travel awards.
5%: Performs other duties as assigned.
