A glimpse of the job
The Human Resources Compliance Manager - Conflict of Interest in Employment will apply their risk management, ethics and compliance planning experience and skills to support the timely identification and analysis of potential conflicts of interests in the outside relationships and activities of Texas A&M University staff employees. This position reports to the Director of Employee Relations in Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness. Special care is taken to ensure the right development opportunities are planned to advance your career.
Some responsibilities include:
Conflict of Interest Management: collect and analyze the data to develop and manage conflict of interest plans and review conflict of interest disclosures submitted by employees and coordinate the development of management/mitigation plans
Regulatory Administration: Serves as a resource on the interpretation of TAMU and System’s policies & Procedures; federal and state laws and regulations; responding to questions; and assisting in investigations. Monitors related regulatory updates and industry best practices; serving as a resource to coordinate mandatory training; and other applicable compliance initiatives
Human Resources Projects: Perform special projects as assigned by the Director of Employee Relations and the Associate Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness. Works on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring completion of assigned tasks within established timeframes
Training and Development: Develops and maintains staff training and communication on conflict-of-interest topics, ensuring that training content is reviewed and updated at least annually. Develops and maintains web-based and other communication tools to guide supervisors and employees in conflict-of-interest topics. Manages program related website updates
Reporting: Manages external reporting process, facilitating the transparent and consistent reporting of individual staff employee external relationships. Produces standard and ad hoc reports on disclosures and conflict management plans. Maintains thorough and detailed records of all disclosures and their adjudication. Maintains knowledge in use of Huron, providing guidance to those who use the systems

  • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU regulations and procedures
  • This position is security sensitive
  • This position may require 10% or more travel
  • This position allows telecommuting per TAMU guidelines
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years of general office, customer service, human resources and/or payroll experience
The well qualified candidate will have a Masters degree and more than five years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education setting.

Salary range: $83,375 - $93,158
