What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiter position at Texas Juvenile Justice Department?
This position is located at the Giddings State School in Giddings, Texas. This position works both at the facility and from home. Requires ability to adjust schedule to accommodate job fairs and hiring activities that may take place outside normal 8 to 5 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct full-cycle recruiting for various positions within the organization
- Source and attract candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media, and networking events
- Screen resumes and interview candidates to assess their qualifications and fit for the role
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
- Utilize HRIS and applicant tracking systems to manage candidate data and streamline the hiring process
- Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies and other talent acquisition partners
- Develop and implement training programs for hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques and best practices in recruitment
- Manage employee orientation programs to ensure new hires are integrated into the organization smoothly
- Assist in employee evaluation processes, providing feedback on performance and identifying areas for improvement
- Support training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment
- Collaborate with HR team members on succession planning efforts to identify high-potential employees for future leadership roles
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Recruiter or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment laws/regulations
- Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data management
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
