What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at Texas Meter & Device?
Texas Meter & Device (TMD) is accepting applications/resumes for a Data Analyst position in our Network Operations Center. The successful candidate will turn data into information, will develop analysis and reporting capabilities, and will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Data Analyst Responsibilities:
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports
- Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining data systems
- Identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filtering and “cleaning” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Locating and defining new process improvement opportunities
- Work hours are generally 8am – 5pm, M-F; however, work outside of these hours be required at times
Requirements:
- Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
- A general understanding of Principal Component Analysis
- Technical expertise regarding data mining and segmentation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Adept at multitasking and meeting strict deadlines
- Experience with MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
- Experience with MS Visio is a plus, but not required.
Pay will start at $18- $20/hr depending on experience.
